It's sad that Rickman only found out about the cancer on Christmas and died so fast, I didn't know that until I saw Matthias talking about it. 

Vertigo posted a short video of Matthias talking about Rickman on Twitter, it's in Flemish but from the few words that I could understand, I think he says basically the same that I posted on the OP:
