Remake of Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles

There are rumors that Universals Pictures are thinking about doing a remake of the Anne Rice Vampire Chronicles (http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/17082); and it's also rumored they're in talks with Robert Downey, Jr. to play Lestat.

Kyle was mentioned on this site: http://www.gabriellefaust.com/ as a possibility. "Cruise and Townsend were perfect for the role and any number of actors come to mind for the Lestat of the future from Johnny Depp to Kyle Schmid…but Robert Downey Jr.?"

Now although Robert Downey Jr. is an incredibly talented actor he is way too old for the role of Lestat. Someone brought up the thought that if they do all the books he'd be sixty years old by the time they finished.

Which brings me to this suggestion: Wouldn't Kyle be great for the role of Lestat? I would understand his hesitation to do a vampire again but he could take what he did with Henry Fitzroy (on Blood Ties) and take Lestat so much further. We all know that he was able to give us a version of a vampire that we had never seen before and I have no doubt that he could do that with the role of Lestat.

There are so many things he could do with this role (if he were given the chance and if he even wanted to do it).

Just a thought...

RDJ? WTF? No.

I could see KS as Armand most of all I think.....because armand in the boos if I remember correctly looked almost angelic. But good, acting, makup, costumes and atmosphere and I'd be happy to see him as either lestat, louise or armand.

Eh. I don't see Kyle Schmid as any vampire but Henry Fitzroy. I have a hard time imagining him as Lestat or even as Armand.

Ignorance killed the cat, curiosity just got framed.
