Beautiful, Yes. Is she talented?

I have seen her in THE GARDEN OF THE FINZI-CONTINIS (1970) and THE CONFORMIST (1970), in two not terribly demanding roles. I've also seen snipets of 1900 (from 1976). I have always wanted to see THE INHERITANCE (1976) as it at least sounds like it's a potentially dramatic part.

There's no doubt Dominique Sanda is arresting and sensual looking, but does she ever play anything other than cool, detached, oftentimes emotionally flat characters? (Maybe that's just what French women are like...) I would put her a few steps above Brooke Shields -- another staggeringly beautiful former model -- but it's not like Sanda comes across as a terribly natural performer...ie, one who is instinctively drawn to convey emotion.

I did not know she's in a 1981 version of practically my favorite film, THE WINGS OF THE DOVe (1997). I will have to check that out.
