Ninja In The Dragon's Den

I recently got my order of Ninja In the Dragon's Den this week, on DVD. I have to say that although it might not be his "best" movie, I certainly enjoyed watching Sanada in full action. The movie has a cheesy tune and not much of a story line, but seeing him in action and watching his acting was definitely worth it. I'm waiting for my order of "Royal Warriors" to come through. I have to say I'm definitely hooked after watching a VERY young Sanada at work.

I believe he was only 22 when he took the part... Ye Gods was he handsome! Not that age has been unkind to him now, but WOW!

Haven't seen that one, but I found Legend of the Eight Samurai and Shogun's Ninja on double-length DVD the other day at SunCoast Video. Neither of these films would ever be in the running for an Oscar, and ironically they both had minimal story lines along with pretty silly soundtracks too. Sanada-san is very young in these also: 23 and 24 respectively. He was very cute in his twenties but I much prefer him today as a mature man with more character in his face.

pearl chilled blue,

am i correct in my assumption that you have the PAL region 2 DVD of ninja in dragon's den? i so desperately wanna check this film out, but here in the US we're on NTSC. i do have a region free dvd player, but i don't know if PAL movies will work properly with my television.

I wonder this is a PAL release when japan is on NTSC as well?

Hi!
2 weeks ago I bought the special collector's edition on EBAY (by HONG KONG Legends, PO Box 88, UK-Hitchin SG5% 1YF). Region Code 2. It was worth its price. The dvd has a dual language format (English dubbed and Cantonese with re-mastered English subtitles. In the original version you can hear Hiroyuki talking in Japanese). I prefer listening to the original version, because I am learning Japanese and it is good practice. I have been interested in his acting skills since the late 1980s.

Thanks for all the info on the movies...now that I have a region-free DVD player (won on eBay) and a multisystem TV on order (from DVDoverseas), I'll be able to watch stuff like this!

The HKL version is fantastic and the film itself is so insanely fun and tongue-in-cheek it will make you very happy indeed.
As for the pink Gi with pom-poms on his slippers.....I cried tears of laughter over that :)
