This dude just oozes screen presence on LOST....

First time i have seen this guy,has he always been that way?

Absolutely! Its the reason he has had a long and successful career -- stage and screen.

You should check out his other work. For instance, his character, Ujio, in The Last Samurai is a bit like Dogen in Lost -- protective, fierce, "don't mess with me" attitude.

Yes! In all the roles I've seen, he's excellent!

Also check out, the movie Twilight Samurai and the tv series Konna Koi no Hanashi(A Story of Love) which are both very good. He's also been in Speed Racer, the White Countess, Rush Hour 3 and Sunshine! All of which I've seen and can't wait for more!
