Is saying "people of color" the same as saying "non-white"?

The honesty would be refreshing if that term was used because that is exactly what it is, non-white.

Yes, as both you and I know, by saying "people of color" they are trying to dodge the charges of racism that they so mindlessly throw about. "White" would be to overt. They are sneaky!! They don't want anyone else using their underhanded tactics! Keep the faith!! and... CHEERS!

There's a clear & important difference between saying "non-white" & "people of color." People of color encapsulates a wide range of people from different backgrounds, social statuses, relationships, etc., while saying non-white defines these same people by their relationship to white people and how they're different simply because their skin color is darker.

It's not about being "shorter and clearer." It's about being sensitive to cultural issues.
