So pissed...*WALKING DEAD SPOILERS*

I'm pretty pissed that he's dead. He was my favorite character. An ahole with a heart that was destroyed from the apocalypse. Besides the ignorant racist side to him, he was a fantastic character. I love Rooker in every role that he does, so much emotion and anger in most of his work and he does it well, Look at, "Henry."

If The Walking Dead keeps killing off good characters, especially in the finale of 27 people, then I may stop watching this show more and more. This is one reason why I normally don't watch T.V. shows, when they get rid of good characters and also the stupid commercials, haha.

Completely agree...Merle was a complex and thoroughly entertaining character and deserved at least one more season on the show. Meanwhile we still have Carl, Beth, Carol, Glenn, Maggie and the baby wasting space...ie dull characters that i could care less about. I'm not suggesting kill em all but i'd trade a Merle for any one of THEM.

I obviously agree with both of you.
I wish Merle could've stayed around but I'm certain Rooker had other obligations.

I doubt the writers WANTED to let him go, more like they HAD to.
That's what happens when you cast a popular and brilliant character actor.

He is in demand & has other projects.

As much as i couldnt stand merle ( had a love-hate thing with Merle ha) im so bummed to have him gone! His character offered so much to the show and now we have one less interesting character.

I will also miss him but the great thing about a show like this is good characters are always right around the corner.

Sorry Brother.

I'll add this...at least he didn't get sent out like a punk. I liked the scene with him sitting in the car slugging down whiskey with Motorhead cranking on the stereo. Merle grinning as he acts like he's going to offer a "drink" to one of the zombies surrounding the car. Cool little scene. His plan was pretty good too and seemed to be working until the one zombie snuck up on him tripping him out into the open and well the rest is history. Hopefully they'll bring Merle back in a flashback scene sometime. Great acting all season by Mr. Rooker...hope he gets an Emmy nod for Best Supporting actor.
