Yeah but Margaret divorced in the seventies. They would have made it out of the question for her issue to accede after that. It was still a scandal when Chic and Diana divorced in the 90s but not like it was twenty years before.

His Danish line was pure German, after the old Danish kings died out and they voted the new line from Northgermany as their successors. But also the older line was pretty German already. The Greek side was also elected German heritage. Basically the House Mountbatten was very much German until WW1. Also actually the today house Windsor, but Victoria assimilated well before that.
