I think DONNA was a bit of a tomboy but while Laura is laid back in real life she doesnt strike me a tonboy off screen.

I don't think she's tomboysish, but her appearances are rather man-ish; her voice is so dark, she's so tall and her head and hands are bigger than most women's.
If an ordinary person had looked like that I would wonder if that person was really a woman or a transvestite.

She's just not a glittery, girly-girl like most Hollywood starlets. A previous poster is correct in that "Donna", her " '70s" character, was a tomboy, while Laura is simply laid back.
Either way I'm glad there's an alternative to the usual starlet.
