What is up with the main guys acting skills, I mean where are they?

So I started watching this recently (currently going on season 1) and I have a real hard time with it, why?

cause the main character is SUCH a bad actor... I mean really, how the *beep* has this been able to run for so long, does he become better with time or something? I mean at the moment the only thing I am watching this for is his goofy friend who is a WAAAAAY better actor than the lead role.

Well my question is simple will I have to be dragged with a *beep* actor for all the seasons, OR will he get better at some point cause at the moment he is the worst in the series, and I ain't going to be able to watch acting at that level without getting angry...
