EXCELLENT Actor
I was HIGHLY impressed with his acting as Todd in Breaking Bad and have been rooting for him ever since
Basically, from my POV, once he showed up in the series it was the Todd show. It's hard to explain because I'm not an expert on acting, just what made his particular performance and his choices over the series so compelling. But I can say that he was acting at a way higher level than everyone else save for Bryan Cranston. He was subtle effortlessly. Giancarlo Esposito is a very solid actor and his work as Gus Fring was entertaining and he played a calm and subdued character, not exactly unlike Todd. But Plemons's Todd is just better
Todd was not a crime kingpin. He was a lackey for most of his character's run. But Plemons played him in such a way that there is a sense of total control of the character. He is too calm and too polite and too subservient compared to every other single character, all of whom seem to be competing for dominance. And yet when he develops into one of the final major villains it doesn't feel surprising at all. Plemons never changes his performance style but still convinces you as the character changes
People seem hung up on the fact that he bagged Kirsten Dunst. I agree that she's very beautiful, but I don't think she is out of his league at all. Some guys just possess so much talent and charisma that not having traditional leading-man looks is no impediment to them bagging quality poontang and he is one such man
His casting in the lead of Killers of the Flower Moon should represent his biggest breakthrough into the film A-list and I'm excited to see what he does from here on out. The sky is the limit IMO
