I'd love to see a set-list if you can manage it!

reply

Ta-Daa! I have posted it in the OP πŸ‘

One of the greatest voices in rock history, I'd like to hear how those pipes have held up.
Let us know, if you have time, how he performed, I love the guy.
Plant is a big deal to a lot of people.

Also, did he do any Zeppelin songs, he's apparently grouchy about the Zeppelin stuff.

reply

He was in fine voice. The set revolved around how he β€˜left England to escape Rock and ended up discovering all kinds of music’ (see setlist above in updated OP).

reply

Good play list. Nice to hear he still has his pipes in good order.

reply

The Zep songs were given a more bluegrassy/jazz feel.

reply

Mate, Bournemouth's changed from what it was.

Not in a good way

reply

I like it here.

reply

Town centre's foul, worse at night.

Rapes, bums, chavs and druggies galore...

reply

Yes, it needs to be sorted. I don’t go there after dark.

reply

Didn't do anything from his solo albums, did he?

I saw him on one of his first solo tours in the 80's. Then I saw him w/Page on the "Un-Ledded" tour in the 90's.

reply

Has one of the best rock voices of all time.

reply

He could’ve stood there and read out the phone book and still sound awesome.

reply

Of the many things I love about Robert Plant is his willingness to change and not hold on to the past.

I love Led Zeppelin but I always look forward to Robert Plant's solo releases.

Listen to his solo releases in chronological order sometime. Every album is very different in style and sometimes genres!

Hope you enjoyed the show! Looks like an excellent setlist!

reply

I have all his albums and completely agree.

None of his solo albums sound anything like the one that came before it. Maybe "Pictures At 11" & "Principle of Moments" are the only 2 that are most alike.

I remember being totally taken aback at the time by "Shaken & Stirred", and absolutely hated it. But after "Now & Zen", I gained more appreciation for it.

Probably my favorite one in the last 20 years was the one with Alison Krauss.

reply

There's some lovely songs on the Alison Krauss collaboration.

reply

Yes, I was a bit puzzled when I first listened to Shaken & Stirred. Like you, I appreciated it more after a few listens. I agree that Pictures at 11 and Principle of Moments are the most similar albums in his catalog.

Raising Sand is a great album. Alison Krauss has a wonderful voice.

reply

Ahhh...'The Rain Song' (my favourite Led Sep track)

Wish he'd do some stuff from his 80's solo period?

reply

The Rain song is a favourite of mine too.

reply

As Jeff Spicoli would say: "Awesome, totally awesome!"

What a great setlist too, I'm so jealous...

reply

The Zep songs were given a more bluegrassy/jazz feel.

reply

Sounds really cool! "The Cuckoo" is one of my favorites...

reply

It really was a magical evening.

reply

It's cool to hear familiar songs in a different style.

I loved MTV Unplugged back in the 90s.
