What happened to her voice?
She sounds completely different from what she used to. She never used to lisp.

shareShe never used to talk posh either. That's the way she's spoken since she married Laurence Fox. She seems to think that because she married James Fox's son that she needs to fit in by talking posh too but she just comes across as being fake!
shareEverything we do is defined by our environment and the people we're around every day. I'm Australian, and six years at a top school made me sound a bit posh. I can sound a bit 'common' if I need to, but if I don't think about it then I revert to posh.
Some people think I'm not even Australian because of this, just because I don't sound exactly like Steve Irwin or Pauline Hanson. Sometimes they think I'm Irish or English or some other random place.
So I don't think it's an act. I don't think she's faking it. She could just be in the same situation as me, and I feel empathy because it's not always easy to deal with people criticizing you and calling you a phony just for walking around being yourself.
I agree, I noticed towards the end of her time on Who she developed a lisp, not sure where that came from?.

I heard it also. I thought maybe it was just me but guess not.
Billie Piper was wearing 'invisible' retainers at the time, I think, hence the lisp.
As for her new accent, she may have acquired it due to the amount of time she has spent with people who speak 'posh' as it can be easy to pick up other people's accents. She may have also had voice training to play roles such as Belle and characters in period dramas.
