So really.....
Why DID she leave Doctor Who at the end of season two? I don't feel like that question was answered in a previous thread.

sharebecause she wanted to try new stuff. like be a call girl on TV.
shareShe states in her autobiography that if she didn't leave then, she'd get too comfortable and would never move on.
"Back of the Neck!"
Why look a gift horse in its over-bitten mouth? She didn't leave soon enough to suit me. This twit has an autobiography at 28? Did she write it in crayon?
Put puppy mills out of business: never buy dogs from pet shops!
Miley Cyrus wrote one and she's like what... 16?
If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense.
It obvious Billie thought that playing a chav in a kiddie show made her a star. Then she got hit with the unflinching bitchslap of reality.
It's ironic that Freema, who was hated by so many DW fans, is now starring in L&O UK - a respectable dramatic role, while Billie's major accomplishment to date was playing a hooker.
Just to clarify-- you're saying Billie is a lesser actress because her role is less acceptable in society in general whereas Freema's is ...what, a cop? I dunno, I haven't seen the show. But anyway, the role itself is more important than whether they portray them well as actresses or not?
If that's the case, then I don't think playing a prostitute makes the role any easier than playing a cop when working with good material, and I don't think it's a good way to judge the direction of a career. She may not have taken off, but it's not like she's out of work or anything.
If that's not the case, then I misunderstood you. I would like to know where you got the impression she thought she was a star (an interview?) and then "got hit with the unflincthing bitchslap of reality," which comes off as very unfairly judgmental but in all fairness is your opinion to hold.
Just curious, not meant to offend, honestly. :\

You can spend the rest of your life with me but I cant spend the rest of mine with you.
Billie Piper was a British pop star and lived quite a bit of life in the spotlight before her time on DW.
