Good actress, nice rack...I don't get all the hate

So I came on here to post about how I like Alison's work in Newsroom and Snowpiercer...and I see all of the threads belittling her appearance. Well, yeah, so her eyes are a bit close together and she's not a "classic beauty" but she's a damn good actress and has presence and I'm entertained by her performances. Also, she has a nice rack...so if you want to break her down to physical attributes there's plenty to like. Everyone needs to chill out.

She's so ugly it will effect her "career". It's just not going to happen for her as a leading actress. She could probably have found work in the '80s but there are soooooooooooooooooo many better looking girls around that can act well. TV is full of them.

She looks like the love child of Bert Newton and Sophie Ellis Bextor.

There are those who genuinely don't like her acting or her looks and that's fair enough, that's just differences in taste and opinion. We all have that.
The ones that go out of their way to belittle and degrade someone because of their looks are just people with mental problems of their own. They hate something about themselves, but they can't bear to deal with it, so they turn it onto someone who is easy pickings, i.e. someone with a degree of fame. No-one can hurt them that way and they can say whatever they want, with the only repercussions being other posters taking an opposing view.
It's a sad thing that they do because they have sad little lives.
A fine example of this is 'fluffchop' above. It's one thing if they don't like Alison's looks but in no way could she be described as ugly. They also don't possess enough intelligence to know the difference between 'effect' and 'affect'. I think that says all we need to know about them and the level of their mental ability.

Personally, I think Alison is very cute and beautiful. She's not the best actress and probably won't ever make the A-list, but she's a decent actress who always puts in a good performance. 'Classic beauty' isn't all it's cracked up to be. When I hear that term I think of the carbon copy supermodels, the perfectly styled hair and make-up just to go to a shop, the face plastered in make-up etc. No thanks, give the the 'girl next door' type, (like Alison, the Fannings and others) they are far more real and better looking.

I personally always thought that she was a good actress, that she is pretty and extremly hot.

I really can't believe she is still getting work in Hollywood. she looks like the outcast, weird, uncool, pale skinned, freakish looking, deformed face, weirdly constructed as far as how big every feature on her face is, ugly girl no one in high school was attracted to. I'm trying to remember years ago when tv or movies allowed women who were 6s or lower to be on tv or in a movie and she's not even a 6, she's a 4!!! a 4!!! years ago it seems like I remember a 6 or lower girl being on a tv show or in a movie, back in the '80s or early '90s but they barely ever had starring roles and so she doesn't deserve a starring role in anything because she's ugly as hell. man, if a woman's eyes aren't attractive then that's a really bad sign and big sign that she is ugly and her forehead is way, way too big, and way, way too thick. the thing is even back in the '80s and '90s the ugly girls on tv shows and in movies were never as ugly as her.

if you find her attractive then you don't find anyone ugly. just look at her on her new ABC show. I've never been so aghast at a girl being so ugly and unfit to be an actress because of that. there has to be quality control as far as a girl being attractive enough to be on a tv show or movie. I mean, come on, this is entertainment. we want to be pleasured in a visual way about actors and actresses.

Well she's hardly getting work on the biggest shows on television, but the biggest point here is, why do you hate her so much? What has she ever done to you? I've only ever seen two of her projects (The Family and something from about 5-6 years ago), but if she is what the casting director wants, then she is who gets hired!

I can't take the 10s seriously as dramatic actors in movies and tv shows, to be honest. It just wouldn't make sense to hire someone purely based on looks, as you seem to insinuate. Your negativity doesn't prove anything other than that you are clearly very irrationally angry at someone else's casting choices. She gets the roles that she gets because directors clearly want her. I've never known a person to belittle someone so much based on looks who were higher than a 6 themselves.

she's ugly as hell is the problem, it's that simple thus she's not fit to be on tv or in movies. under average looks are not acceptable in the entertainment industry unless you are a great actress or are 50 or over, both of which she is not.
