I find it hard to beleive he was only 52 when he died in 1982.
That means that in The Wild Bunch he was only around 40 years old. I'm in my 50s and if I stood next to Wild Bunch era Warren Oates he looks like he could be my father.

You could never accuse him of having plastic surgery.. which I'll bet the majority of male actors have had today.
People look younger and younger. I look 30ish, I'm way older.
We will look old at 75. Someone born today will look old at 85.Etc.
In 1920, you were old at 50.
Someday it will STOP. And nobody will look old again.
