One of the best ever. Just thought i'd get a thread going on his board. I think his performance in Two-Lane Blacktop as GTO is still my favorite.

I haven't seen Blue Thunder in ages but I remember Warren Oates being outstanding in the film. A great actor with a southern accent.

I remember he didn't believe Roy Scheider's character's claim about about not hearing the radio communication. I don't recall the exact words but he made me laugh.

Just saw him in an episode of "The Rifleman", in which he made the grievous mistake of drawing his big iron on Lucas McCain. In the end titles he was billed as "Warren M. Oates". Great actor.

Oates shows up every where on the old Westerns. Just saw him on Steve McQueen's "Wanted."

Check out 'Cockfighter' (if you haven't already?) It's up there with 'Bring Me The Head Of Alfredo Garcia' as prime 'Oates'
