Fanboys just can't understand art or beauty.
I saw this person I know, who is massively homophobic, a total dudebro, not necessarily a fanboy but fanboys are closely related to dudebros, watching I believe Batman Forever and I was wondering, what the hell could they possibly get or understand from it? Can they understand all the classical elements? The hellenistic structures? The total goddess in the form of Nicole Kidman? What if they saw Batman & Robin? What would they think about the absolute goddess of beauty that is Uma Thurman in it? Then I thought well they would be threated by it, since to them she would be subversive. Then I thought straight men just can't see beauty and do art like us gay men can. And then my mind went to the fanboy artists and just how much LESS they art truly is. Beauty is an essential part of art, as well as form, but the fanboy brain just can't deal with this. They can't create it, when they see it they pathetically dismiss it as "camp", and they sure as hell can't understand it.
And this is easily demonstrated in the work of all the fanboy directors: Scorcese, Spielberg, now people like Nolan, Villneuve and so many others. They can't create beauty for anything in the entire world, and they also cannot write women. They can't. In the case of Nolan it is virtually IMPOSSIBLE for him to write for a woman, to showcase the artistic potential of beauty. It's utterly impossible. That's why to me he is shit. He is not an artist, he is a fanboy with the drive and tenacity to make a film, but a fanboy nonetheless. Good for you.
Of course, straight men can be complete artists and use everything in the world to be able to create sublime things, and they use women a lot to its full potential, like Hitchcock and Joseph L. Mankiewicz. Great directors, they knew beauty and how to create it and that is what a true artist is I have to say.
