Nooooooooooooooooooo! I love Thandie, but a Tyler Perry movie? That is a step down for her. I would rather see her do Norbit: Pt 2 than a Tyler Perry film. His movies are generally horrible and degrading.

This isn't going to be a typical Perry movie. He didn't write this. It's based on a critically acclaimed play written around 30 years ago(?).
So there's no chance Madea or any other cariacutures of black women.

"W." was such utter crap, anything she takes would be a step up.

Oh, Crystal...I would love to have the sex with you~~Supernatural

When Thandie plays African-American roles, she's HORRIBLE! She's terrible and should never EVER be in those roles----and Zoe Saldana isn't too far behind.

She's beautiful and graceful, but she should never ever play American ethnic roles because it doesn't appear authentic.

reply

Yup, that's the only thing that makes sense. Especially if she's really trying to become an actor.

reply

Are you serious? She was pretty good in both THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS & CRASH--I never would have guessed she was British if I hadn't known it already. Gimme a break---lots of white British actors do American roles ALL the time and they rarely get dogged out for trying them.

kgreene12_248, Thandie's character was ambiguous and overly stressed in Happyness, and I won't even speak of Crash.

She does not play BLACK AMERICAN women well at all. I mean horrible. She's not realistic...Thandie could not sell me a Claire Huxtable character or any other fabric of black American women...along with Zoe Saldana, she's missing something.
