Micky Dolenz released the solo album Dolenz Sings Nesmith earlier this year as a tribute to his fellow Monkee and The Monkees performed a “Farewell” tour this fall, so did Mike and/or Micky know he would be dying soon? If so, I hope Nez recorded some material before he died that Micky could complete as a final Monkees album.

shareAbsolutely would be excited if Micky said they have enough material from Mike, Peter, and Davy for him to make one last new Monkees album. The songs on Good Times (2016) and Christmas Party (2018) are almost just as good and iconic as their 1960s material. Also their 2020 live album and Micky’s Dolenz Sings Nesmith proves that Micky can successfully sing song originally sung by the other Monkees if that need be the case in order for him to complete a new Monkees album with posthumous contributions from the rest of the band.
