I haven't seen anything of Franco's beyond his westerns, and was curious if anyone has any recommendations for his current movies (say anything made in the 90s on). Thanks.

Kinda of a poor man's KEOMA.
Check him out Fabio Bonzi's period drama ZOLOTO aka GOLD(1992) where he plays a renaissance painter who gets caught up in a brutal civil war,seems to be quite a rare film but one of his best roles IMO.
shareJ of the Bears plays a lot better with an audience. When I saw it at the Chinese theater with Nero, Saxon, and Castellari all in audience people were literally cheering throughout the film. A once in a lifetime experience, actually.
It might not have Nero's best acting but it has uncontestably the best cinematography of any of Castellari's films - maybe because he had the top Russian crew to be had at the time.
