Watchmen
When Snyder's Watchmen came out, I thought it was a mixed-bag, but mostly pretty great, falling short of the graphic novel in a few, often intangible or hard to articulate, ways.
The cast, I thought, were great (including Malin Akerman; I've never understood why people hated her performance), and everybody LOVED Jackie Earle Haley as Rorschach - with good reason.
But Jeffrey Dean Morgan got overlooked as the Comedian, and frankly, I think he was the best performance among the lot of them. The Comedian is one of the trickier characters to get right, since he has to produce such conflicting emotions, both within the characters of the film and the audience. Morgan nailed it. He made the Comedian pop from page to screen and it was magic.
