He looks like Namor, not Aquaman

So apparently he's going to play DC's underwater hero, Aquaman, who is blonde-haired and blue-eyed. He looks nothing like him. Weird.

You know what's weirder? He DOES look a lot like MARVEL's underwater hero, Namor (who is black-haired, brown-eyed, with angular, exotic facial features).

It's almost like this guy was born to play Namor and born not to play Aquaman, but they're going to use him for Aquaman. How did that happen?

Jason was on a few fantasy casting lists for the part of Namor. I think this is an attempt to undercut Marvel by scooping up their perfect "Namor" before the idea of the Sub-Mariner came up with regards to the Avengers franchise.

"Am you Bizarro's mommy?"

On the other hand, he looks amazing in the water. Just wet. Covered in water and not much else. Wet.

Well, he's playing Aquaman. Not Namor. So get over it.

There's nothing to "get over," stupid, because I have no emotional investment in it. I just find it extraordinarily ironic that there are two iconic undersea heroes in comics, Mamoa is the spitting image of one and is all wrong for the other, and so he gets cast in the WRONG one. It's funny in a Murphy's Law kind of way.

It would only be annoying if Marvel passed on Mamoa for Sub Mariner (who he is totally, totally right for). But for Mamoa to become unavailable for Sub Mariner because he's playing Aquaman of all people (who he is totally, totally wrong for) is vastly comical.

I think he should have been cast as the Main Man Lobo

I must become someone else. I must become something else.
