Drogo...

Really?
The Tyr from Andromeda/tyalc from SG1 dude off SG: Atlantis? As Drogo in Game of Thrones?
Just...that doesn't seem right to me at all. I really get the impression in the book Drogo isn't exactly a handsome chap, Dany only comes around to him as its the situation she's in and wasn't he meant to be more mongol than...polynesian or whatever?

momoa did not star as tyr from the adromeda series, and looks nothing like keith cobb, and teal'c from sg1, and sga cameo is played by Christopher judge, a black actor, momoa played ronin dex in stargate atlantis, given your complete ineptitude about the actor, your opinion means *beep* and given that you don't even truly understand the situation between dany and drogo, that makes it so you have even less merit, drany did not at first love drogo, because her brother forced her into the marriage, and she thought of drogo as nothing more than a savage (again because of her brother) but eventually she didn't just come to grips with situation because she was stuck with it, she actually came to love drogo so feircely that she bargained with a witch to have him saved.

not to mention, the dothraki are described as copper skinned people, and martin has implied that they were inspired by native american indians tribes.

From reading the book, I don't remember the initial description of Drogo - but I imagined he must be totally hot. I mean, he's effectively the totally buff warrior king type. He has to be, right =D

reply

It was never stated that the Dothraki were Mongolian in appearance, their culture seemed based on Mongols (Genghis Kahn's people) or perhaps Huns (Attila's people), but that doesn't mean the people themselves have to look Mongolian.

Anyway, the Mongol/Hunnic empires weren't just in Asia, the Hunnic empire also comprised of Russian and Eastern Europe (including parts of Germany) and the Mongol empire comprised of Eastern Europe, China, Russia, Siberia, North India, the Middle East, Mongolia, the area where Pakistan and Bangladesh are currently located

he is AWESOME as Drogo in Game of Thrones!

reply

I wouldn't say he is awesome in Game of Thrones... his acting has consisted of walking around half naked and forcing himself on Dany. While that is pretty much spot on from what he does in the book its not that hard to walk around with muscles blaring and then sleep with the wife that was given to you to sleep with. However, if you saying he looks the part... then yea.

reply

I would say he is completely awesome. Hotness personified. He's quite possibly the most gorgeous man I've ever seen. If HBO is paying attention (it's all about the dollar, after all), Drogo and Dany will be written in with MUCH bigger parts. They are on fire together. They are the main reason I keep watching the show and I will read the books now.

reply

I totally agree with you. I love them together, hope they will continue longer than in the books. They steal the show. Let's hope.

I love this couple on the show and are just so beautiful together. Didn't like their beginning but they're so good now. Hope they continue for a while.
