or not...jason mewes and kevin smith are best friends. in 2001 kevin said that jason had to stay clean of drugs for 5 years until he can be in another movie. hence, clerks 2 came out in 2006 and Jason has been clean ever since. He doesn't use drugs anymore, just smokes cigarettes and maybe marijuana occasionally. But heroin, cocaine, not anymore for Mr. Mewes.

Clerks 2 was made in late 05 and Jay had only been sober about 2 1/2 years at that point. He finally quit in early 2003.
