I agree! He's the reason why I started watching Outlander. He's the best actor on the show. He has a good shot at winning too.

(I know I would be slaughtered on the Outlander boards for saying that I think he's a better actor than Heughan. Hopefully, I'm fairly safe here on TM's board.)

I believe that's only because people have difficulty separating the actor from the villain. Jamie Fraser (Heughan) cuts a glorious figure as hero of the story. It's easy to like him.
Tobias Menzies is a convincing villain, though, hence the nom.
