Eternal Law

Over the years I've seen a great deal of Tobias's acting, but he never had a defining role in film or television until the unfortunately short-lived Rome. He didn't get a Golden Globe nod, one that I would argue he deserved. He's getting the attention now for his work on Outlander. I just watched Eternal Law online. Not a great legal show with intriguing morally ambiguous characters like The Good Wife, but I learned one thing - Tobias looked smashing in Armani.

I've seen Eternal Law online and while I will admit that it is not one of Tobias' best it does show how good he looks in a suit. He would look even better in a three piece suit. I have always thought that three piece suits make men look classy.

Hi meerschweinchen, I thought Tobias did a commendable job considering the material wasn't the best and the writing wasn't very strong. He seemed to do everything he could to prevent the work from getting too sentimental. The show needed something, a romantic triangle, anything to light the fire. The producers let him have free range and he seemed to enjoy himself. He looked fantastic in a suit and yes, he'd look great in a three piece. I hope he does something contemporary soon.

When I watched it back then I said to myself that it takes a truly immense actor to work wonders with such a one dimensional role, he managed to have and be huge fun as Richard Pembroke without getting hammy. The show itself left me cold.

Hi eloiseshf,

Eternal Law was a mess. It took itself way too seriously, the writing was mediocre and it never really utilized the skills of its talented cast. I did like the way some of the scenes were shot, but pretty pictures couldn't redeem the show. I liked Tobias, but as you wrote, his role was as a one-dimensional villain and didn't show his talent to great advantage; however, he did appear to be having a fun time and looked fabulous in those beautiful suits.

I thought it was a cute show even though I'm not religious at all. I questioned my sanity for liking a British Touched By an Angel, but I liked it despite myself. Too bad it just ended without a conclusion. I wonder if they planned for the clock to stop. Probably not since it was a happy show.

Hi greenginger,

From what I read, the cast hoped the show would find its footings. Tobias went on to do other things and has made his name with Outlander. My hope is he finds another project that brings him even more recognition in the future.
