Tobias on Outlander
I stopped posting about Tobias on the Outlander board because, for some reason, he engenders a great deal of hostility from some fans of the show. Starz has been re-broadcasting Outlander episodes and yesterday showed the wedding night episode of Outlander. The episode began with Frank's wedding to Claire before they are separated by W.W. II. It encompassed his search for her after her disappearance through the stones and ends with her being pulled away from the stones by English soldiers. I'd forgotten how powerful Tobias was in those episodes.
While I find Sam Heughan quite dashing and like his portrayal of the handsome Highlander, my taste in romance is a bit more cerebral, Victorian rather than Georgian. I confess, I prefer gothic anti-heroes to studs. Tobias wasn't muscle bound or wearing a kilt, but I found quiet desperation and a bit of danger in his Frank.
