At least he gets to retain his looks, as much as such a story allows it.
Hopefully in the adapting process they will incorporate elements of other characters into his, so that the character will become a second lead of sorts.

I think he'll do well but he's played characters like Fitzjames before. I'd just love to see him branch out.

I agree that at least in terms of the character's background (English upper class), the casting played it really safe with him.

I know Tobias can play something other than a posh Englishman, but he hasn't done so recently. He played junkies and thugs in the past as a young actor. I'd love to see him play an American and try some regional accents.
