It's a shame that Elaine May isn't more well-known these days. She's a brilliant talent - even to this day (A Crisis in Six Scenes, for instance). It's a shame, too, that Hollywood abandoned her. Anybody who sees this, if you haven't yet scene an Elaine May, check out her stuff!

It really sucks that executives are so skittish that one flop can tank a whole career, especially when anybody looking at that production's history would know that this was hardly Elaine May's fault alone. Of course, for them to admit that would be to admit that the production going out of control had as much to do with executives and producers as the creatives, and we can't have that, can we?
A New Leaf is a wonderful film, though, and more people should see it.
