She seems like a nice girl. I don't know much about her other than she plays on Dr. Who. How long have they been together? And does anybody know of his past girlfriends?

I believe they met in Budapest in summer of 2011 when he was filming the Birdsong mini-series and she was filming the Titanic one at the same time. I think (not sure) they became a couple in fall of 2011 and have been together since then.
No idea about girlfriends previous to Jenna, though there were rumors that he and Emilia Clarke dated in the early days of Game of Thrones and I stress rumors for this because neither one of them have ever confirmed it. Though recent Emilia interviews have brought it up, so I don't know if she is confirming it or that the interviewers have found the rumors on the net.
I don't think he and Emilia would be a couple at this time (you know Jenna and all) but Emilia has said that she, Richard, Kit Harington, Alfie Allen and Rose Leslie are all good friends. So at the very least you know that Richard and Emilia are good friends whether or not they were a couple in the past.
