Matthew in Anna Kerenina...with Keira and Joe!

So it's come to light that Anna Karenina (The Daily Mail, Empire Magazine) is an "experimental" take on the classic story brought to film.

Matthew is portrayed in excess of women, the "good life" and food, etc.

The film will be theatrical in nature too, which I must say Matthew is the expert among the actors in that respect. Still it will be an interesting take and wonder how it will all pan out.

The curiousity has just gone way up!!!

Im soooo looking forward to seeing Matthew in this, I agree with you Maui3, he is the expert among the actors and im hoping this will be a great movie, Pride and Prejudice is one of my favourite movies, so im sure this one will be amazing too. We've had the photos of Jude, Keira and Aaron, bring on the photos of Matthew, the waiting is killing me!!!!

I don't think this will be like any of Joe Wright's period pieces.

If anything, it almost smacks of a subverted piece as it sounds like Joe Wright wanted to do anything BUT something that would mirror those in style, etc.

Sorry to say, but to gushing fans of Matthew (which I am one) I think we will see Matthew in a very different light. It won't be "Mr. Darcy" in this at all, as once we get a picture, that will fade fast...and that is the way it shoud be for an actor.

So true. If an actor can play roles polar opposites of each other with great ease then that is truly a mark of real talent. I'm sure Matthew will pull this off . Can't wait to see a trailer!
