His voice

This is going to make me sound super crazy, but whatever :) Anyhow, as someone with a hearing loss I focus a lot on people's mouths, voices, and over all the way they speak. He has a wonderful speaking voice and I'm surprised he doesn't do more voice work.

It does not sound crazy at all, SnapCrackledThePop. Matthew's voice is wonderful Can't imagine waking up to that voice saying "Good morning" -- his wife is indeed a lucky woman.

As for the voice work, I agree, he should do more!

I've described his voice as rich,, velvety chocolate before. Still feel that way. The accent is an added bonus.

Think I can get his latest advertisement from M&S as a morning alarm?! Naw, probably wouldn't want to get up!

reply

Is he a baritone or a bass? I think his voice sounds too deep to be a baritone, but maybe not quite deep enough to be a bass.

reply

if you are asking musically, he does not sing.

reply

No, not musically. Just the range of his voice. Most men are have baritone speaking voices, but his sounds somewhat deeper than the average to me.

I do hope that if I am one day reincarnated as a British man that I will have his voice. It seems to me that you could be rather plain, but such a voice would make cause many women to find you attractive.

Someone commented about the "RADA" voice. Wondering how this process works? It is funny because I think his voice sort of unremarkable in most of his roles. Alot higher pitched that this ice cream commercial. He has a lovely Brit accent. Do we know what kind or is it upper class generic?
