New fan!

So I was watching a movie with a friend recently and we saw a trailer for "The Three Musketeers." My friend said one of the guys there looked familiar and told me she's seen him in "Robin Hood" and "Frost/Nixon" (did not get to see those films at the time although they've been in rotation over at HBO). Anyways, I didn't know who she was talking about until she said Mr. Darcy from "Pride and Prejudice" with Keira Knightley, and I said yes, he was great in that! My friend said Matthew is a real chameleon, a sign of a truly talented actor.

So I watched "Frost/Nixon" (yes I had a copy of it but never got the chance to watch it), and I must say he is definitely one to watch. I'm glad he's got a lot more projects so I have a lot to look forward to.

Oh yes! So late to the party so thank God for the Internet. I cannot believe the amount of tribute videos fans have made for him on youtube.

Loved "Pride and Prejudice" and expected him to blow up after that, like he'd star in Hollywood movies one after the other like Clive Owen.

Reading up all the info I can find on him, I was surprised to find out that just when his international film career was about to peak, he got married and then had three kids in a span of three years (OK, one was a stepson but still...) and it seems family has been the reason why he's chosen not to go entirely Hollywood. Finding about that made me admire him even more. I'm officially a fan!

Frustrating as that is, cbd he has high standards and work isn't the most important thing to him afterall.

Have fun being a fan, it's a roller coaster one minute busy the next the desert.

Isn't it refreshing to see that there are still actors who seem to be trying to lead good lives? Compare with much of the Hollywood scene...

Which work of him do you recommend other than "Spooks" and "Pride and Prejudice" for new fans?

I definitely will recomend "The Pillars of the Earth"
