I think that’s because a movie lets her show her personal vitality much more than a single-frame photograph, which is one-twenty-fourth of a second in a movie, can convey. Youth is much more than a snapshot. Youth is Chi, which manifests best in movement, e.g., Michelle Yeoh, Maggie Cheung, Maggie Q, Lucy Liu, Shu Qi, Charlotte Lewis.

When I worked as a bouncer I could normally guess people's age with an uncanny accuracy. Asians were the exception to the rule.
