Occult San Francisco Interview (1975)

Not very inspiring or charasmatic speaker. The Church has faded away.

Church of Satan https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jt0RVBRyJWU

In this rare footage LaVey discusses Satanism as a religion based on a carnal, materialist understanding of human nature, centered in psychology and philosophy over occultism. LaVey addresses the question of "god" and what Satan represents, as well as accusations of being a showman. Footage provided by Saul Rouda Film Archive, contact [email protected] for more footage of this era and more. Mastering and editing by Reverend John Shaw of iSatanist.com.

Yeah, my problem with LaVey is that his whole religion was atheism in dress-up. He didn't believe in any supernatural entity.

Aleister Crowley explored these ideas better from a spiritual angle, though he was not technically a Satanist.

And then the Church of The Process is perhaps the real Church of Satan. Manson was allegedly a member.

I enjoyed this interview with Lavey on the Joe Pyne show from 1967, I think. Most of the comments about the video are supportive of Lavey and negative towards Joe Pyne who acts like an asshole throughout the interview. It's interesting to me that Pyne and the guests treat him like a total joke and not as some scary spooky guy at all.
