The Lion King

So this guy is a veteran in the Japanese animation import business (U.S). Is he in the right? I mean, it seems like he knew people involved with LK's production team at the time, but how far does his involvement go? Was he just advocating for his interests?
I like both LK and Kimba, but I wish the latter was more widespread in America and its surroundings. I think it may be due to Disney pulling some strings to block Tezuka's distribution over the region. What do you guys think?
Edit: LK live action was a disgrace, what a wasted opportunity. I was hoping for something much better! So disappointing it was unreal.
