I just saw this in the news. How sad... I've always liked him.

Some good times with Coach Knight remembered and #1 in the video is epic.
I thought he died 4 times already.
shareI enjoyed reading the article...Knight really left a complicated legacy. So similar in a lot of ways to Woody Hayes, who I loved (I'm an Ohio State fan)...but I couldn't stand Knight when he coached at Indiana. He was profane, rude, crude...but one heck of a basketball coach. As an OSU fan, I've had a lot of conversations over the years about Knight...he took a lot of Fred Taylor's ideas (Taylor was his coach when Knight played at OSU) and put them into action at IU.
After his coaching career at IU ended, he did some announcing and I thought he was a terrific announcer. I really came around to respect his coaching ability and basketball knowledge. He could be very funny and downright charming at times. But he really had a tough, stubborn streak in him as well.
I knew he was in bad health recently. His death is the end of an era in many ways. RIP, Bobby Knight.

I hate to say it but I thought he passed away already. RIP, he was one of the great coaching personalities in all of Sports.
shareBy the way, did anyone here ever read John Feinstein's great book "A Season On The Brink" featuring Knight? I finally read it sometime in the early/mid-90s. I really enjoyed it...parts of it reminded me a lot of my high-school basketball coach (Who also had a "My way or the highway" attitude). It would've been tough playing for Knight for sure!
