I really like his version of The Daily Show

It was a good time. Lots of silly news stories without having some political axe to grind. Also, I enjoyed the "This day in Hasselhoff history" segment.

It was an excellent show with him. 5 questions rocked. Totally different and far superior.

I did not like John Stewart at first. It took him a few years to adapt to the show IMO. While I don't share his politics, I found him to be a decent source for that view point once he had been with the show long enough. Bit of a spazz but doesn't seem like the deceptive (ie politician) type. Bill Mahr is one of the few Leftys I can tolerate now but I just don't watch talk shows nor editorials at all any more. The modern environment is too toxic.
