Let's see what other actors within the Batman Begins/Dark Knight movies also have accents different than that character they play in the movie:

Christian Bale - Welsh accent

Heath Ledger - Aussie Accent

Gary Oldman - English Accent

Cillian Murphy - Irish accent

Chin Han - Singaporeian accent

Anthony Michael Hall - Bostonian accent (I am sure some of his dialog had words with an "r" in them that he pronounced.

Liam Neeson - Irish Accent

Tom Wilkinson - English accent

Rutger Hauer - Dutch accent

Linus Roache - English accent

Colin McFarlane - English accent

Gerald Murphy - Irish accent





So, why would Aamir Khan be any different?

One would expect an actor as professional as Khan would be able to mimic an American accent for a film role.

OR, Nolan could write that the character is actually from India living in Gotham City.

I still say it would be an interesting pick for Khan to play the Riddler.

nice reply to "shut the **** up" post. but i have to disagree cause i think amir is not that good an actor, i think he is a very smart man with good taste and good eyes for movies, he is a better producer. when amir is involved in a movie he controls everything thats the reason his movies are a big hit. but he is not a great actor.

U r talkin about Riddler.....Aamir is a good actor...but tis Riddler...havnt u read the comics....??Johnny Depp, Edward Norton and Jude Law.....these gys were perfct for Riddler...bt nowRiddle is outta question in TDKR...so why fight... :)

My only objection was to the implication that Aamir Khan is somehow not eligible to be in something like Nolan's Batman series. Whether he would suit a specific role or not can of course be debated. Based on some of Aamir's performances, he could probably handle just about any role decently, and maybe add an interesting twist of his own.

And of course, as you say, the role in question is not even happening, so we're good. :)
