I was wondering the same....since he plays an Italian mobster in Carlito's Way: Rise to Power.

being irish, perhaps he has italian origins, but also Kirk Douglas played the mafioso... and he's not italian...

agreed, but as far as i know he has both italian and irish in him (and probably more) which really just qualifies him as american.

yeah, i totally thought he was italian because he's so dark. then i saw his name on the "carlito's way" credits and i'm like "damn! he's irish?" i just think he has a very kind face which i thought really fit with his character being so soft-spoken. i don't care what his ethnicity is, i think he's handsome in a very off-beat sort of way.
