Saw a documentary on him...

I’m sure many of you have seen several documentaries and movies on him. One thing that upset me the most was when he beat up a senior citizen male in his church and kept punching him in the face and laughed the whole time he was doing it. Truly evil man and without question Devil influenced too....

I don't know about the devil, but I've often thought he was a CIA asset and that the People's Temple was an intelligence front, despite its tortured "socialist" principles. Senator Leo Ryan, who was slain in Guyana along with a news crew right before the mass "suicide", had made a name for himself by co-authoring the Hughes-Ryan Amendment which would have required the CIA keep Congress fully briefed on covert operations. I'm sure one of the reasons he visited the People's Temple was to survey not merely the human rights abuses taking place there, but to discover the nature of whatever the People's Temple operation was designed to do. It's possible he was about to blow the lid off what was truly going on down there, but the Agency decided to abort the entire project and kill any witnesses.
