Signed on to do another sitcom

Hopefully, it's better than Sheen's Anger Management show, from the same production company and using the same model to amass enough episodes for syndication. James I feel is the perfect actor for a sitcom. If he didn't already have a show on ABC, Tim Allen would be another perfect candidate for this but Last Man Standing should get enough episodes for syndication if it lasts this season plus another one.

How weird, I was just about to come here and ask if he was now going back to TV, since his movie career didn't go that well.
And this news just broke yesterday.

I liked King of Queens, but I can't say I like the looks of these 10-90 model sitcoms like Anger Management, or about 20 different Tyler Perry shows, they all look cheap and very quickly put together (which they of course are).

The model make perfect financial sense, shoot a hundred episodes in 2-3 years, put the show instantly to syndication and rake in the dough.

Now pretty big stars like Roseanne, Kelsey Grammer and Martin Lawrence are working on shows using this model, so it will be interesting to see if the writing on those will be any better.

I'm definitely surprised. I didn't think we would see him doing another sitcom for quite some time if ever again. I'm also surprised he is doing the 10-90 thing. He's still a pretty big name, so I would think one of the networks would want him to do a sitcom the traditional way.

Regardless, I'm really happy and excited. I loved The King of Queens. It is one of my favorite shows of all time. I am very much looking forward to seeing Kevin James in a sitcom again.

I could not agree more. I'd really look forward to good laughs with some Kevin James again each week. King of Queens was one of those stand-out shows with creative storylines through good writing. Each episode had enough goodies to stand on its own. I don't remember ever thinking I'd seen the week's concept idea before, borrowed from another show. Great work, James and company...come back! Come back!!

Kevin James should retire.
