This guy would make a better Jax
I can buy this guy as a tough biker
I know all the women think the actor who plays Jax is cute but it should be about who looks more realistic for the role not who has a better body.

I agree. Ryan Hurst would have made an awesome Jax. With the beard he really looks like a biker. He just has that persona down pat. And, since I'm a fan or Ryan's, I also think he's HOT. The guy's got a body just as buff as Charlie Hunnam's...maybe better :)
Hurst does look more like a biker, but Hunnam studied the younger generation of bikers and he discovered that a lot of them were influenced by the hiphop culture, so it may not seem like it but Jax is just a different kind of biker character, which I think is needed because his philosophies are much different than the rest of the club.
shareAgreed - he would make a much better Jax. They guy playing Jax is too much of a pretty boy and thinks acting tough means walking around like you're in a rap video. (Not that I have anything against rap videos, it's just that SOA ain't one!) Shame.

Man I was thinking THE EXACT SAME THING. I was gonna make a thread about it as well. But I'm glad i'm not the only one. The guy who plays Jax seems out of place. He seems like some surfer dude; when he gets angry, he doesn't even look intense/menacing. The way Jax carries himself seems too hiphop for the show (i have nothing against hiphop), its just seems that the way the racial slurs are thrown around in the show, you'd think he'd be ridiculed at the club everyday. Sneakers with baggy jeans, the way he limps-walks with a gangsta-lean, the slang he uses....etc.. He seems like a wanna-be tough-guy. But perhaps writers have a plan for him and he'll impress us all in Season 2 or we see his character develop more? I don't know, but as it stands he seems a little out of place for the club. When I first saw Opie, I said this GUY should have been Jax- he has the right amount of humbleness and toughness.
