And SOUNDS so different in SOA. Its like he's a completely different actor.
Just listening to him in Remember the Titans compared to SOA is weird. He plays the part so well in SOA.

I know this is an old post, but it applies to what I wanted to say, and I didn't want to start a new thread.
Anyway, I'm sitting here watching The Postman (don't laugh, I'd never seen it), and saw Ryan and thought "holy sh*t, it's Opie!" Then I saw him a bit later and thought "no, it's the half-deaf kid from Saving Private Ryan."
Then I came here, and found that it was both of them. Would NEVER have recognized Opie as the guy yelling "No, it's James FRANCIS Ryan!"
What'd you do to your voice, dude? lol
Agreed. I just put it together too that it's all one actor. What a transformation.
