oh, he's English?
All this time i was thinking he was Australian. I wonder is it harder for an English person to sound American or for an American to sound English?

Don't think it matters as it depends on the person.
Look at House and Andrew Lincoln from The Walking Dead, some people would've never guessed that they are English.
I love Charlie but his American accent's terrible.
It's easier for English actors to sound American since they're exposed to more American accents from early age and it's part of their training.
When did Charlie play an Australian?
For an English man, he's not the best at English accents either. I can't take him seriously in Green Street!
