Are any of his movies worth watching, and if so, why?
I learned most of what I know about Hughes from “The Aviator” and Wikipedia.
Haven’t had a chance to see any of his movies.

As a director?
Hell's Angels is worth it if only for the spectacle of aerial sequences

But he produced Scarface with Howard Hawks directing.

How did Scarface turn out?

I do t think he produced any memorable films. His best known movie was "The Outlaw", but only because it was the debut of Jane Russell. It's not that good a movie.
