He would have to bulk out. Also, I know he can do flippant cynicism but can he do serious cynicism?

I actually now think someone late 40's should take the part. When I look at him, I immediately see cocky and arrogant.

No he does not work as cable not wolverine. Gambit would be a choice for him, but he is too old at this point unless they do a flash forward.
