Yeah. When you hear how another actor is crying and complaining how poor they are and are underplayed just remember that they mean "In celebrity world".
They make absolutely more that average people. But in their mind once they do tv show or movie - they are automatically entitled to rich fortune and must make millions, like some other celebrities. Specially if that show becomes famous. Or movie get 80 millions at box-office.
They look at Tom Cruises and Brad Pitts and think next day they will wake up with 10 millions on their accounts. "Because they are on TV, ya'll. People know their faces". And when it doesn't happen - they start whine and complain. Thats why they got so crazy about those residuals. Because once they are on screen - they think they are entitled to be rich till the day they die.
In celebrity world making 100k a year is being extremely poor. Because how can they afford themselves to fly to parties, buy new expensive stuff to go to event and buy that big house they are "entitled" to now? That's why that Scream actress Neve Campbell threw a tantrum how producers dont value her worth and she is entitled now to big money.
Even those who make low budget movie but then press starts hyping it in awards season and their faces are everywhere, they give interviews. And some even win Oscars. Only to see that it bring no money to them. No one offers them 2 millions per movie. While they thought that after winning Oscar they are now high in ladder. And money will rain. Like that Hillary Sawnk actress. Nobody gave a crap she won 2 Oscars.
