Don Henley or Glenn Frey?

Who was the better lead singer of the Eagles?

reply

Don Henley by far..Glenn Frey was not only the lesser singer but he was such an impossible human being several of the Eagles members quit because of his abusive behavior. Glenn Frey was the primary reason the Eagles quit making records and quit touring for over 14 years. Glenn Frey treated fellow band member Don Henley so horribly that Henley sued Frey and the rest of the Eagles members/management for being fired without cause..Frey and Co. knew they had no defense so they settled out of court making Henley a very rich man.
In short, Glenn Frey was an egotistical maniac who cause severe disruption among the Eagles band members. The worst of the worst.

I think you have a basic fact wrong. You're confusing Don Henley with Don Felder.

Frey and Henley were the head honchos who made all the decisions and treated the rest of the band like employees. Felder was fired. Felder is the one who sued both Frey and Henley. Henley has as big an ego as anyone.

reply

True Henley has a huge ego but I'd put him also under the category of 'malcontent', after all this is what is ex manager says he is lol. But Frey was more than a malcontent or ego maniac, he simply was an impossible human being. Felder said in his book(which was blocked from being sold in the U.S.) that he never really had any problems with Henley; Frey and the Eagles manager were the two that Felder had huge problems with.
Ex-Eagle Bernie Leadon also left many years earlier because of a huge fight with impossible human being Frey.

Not a fan of the Eagles.

Henley

Weirdly I know them better for their solo work, especially Glenn Frey with his big hits from Beverly Hills Cop and Miami Vice, so I'll go with Frey.

Good question. To answer that correctly you would have to hear each hit song sung by the guy who didn't do it on the album.

Do you have a link for that?

I always preferred J Walsh to the lot of them.
